Building and Construction Materials

KEY ADVANTAGES

  • Reduces heat transfer
  • Retains heat when used for interior insulation
  • Reflects heat from exterior surface when used to repel heat
  • Provides moisture and vapor barriers

Vacumet metallized film is perfect for use in building and construction materials. Low-emissivity materials created using Vacumet metallized films and substrates reduce heat transfer by reflecting rather than absorbing heat waves. Vacumet metallized films and substrates also provide moisture and vapor barriers for construction materials.

When used as the radiant barrier in thermal insulation applications, the highly reflective surfaces of Vacumet substrates block the transfer of heat, both internal and external, for residential, industrial and commercial buildings.

When used in concrete curing blankets, Vacumet metallized substrates help ensure concrete strength and durability in two ways. First, the high moisture-barrier properties of Vacumet metallizing keep concrete from drying too quickly. Second, the high reflectivity of Vacumet’s metallized substrates radiates heat outward or retains heat inward keeping concrete the perfect temperature for curing in colder-inclement weather.

When used for duct tape, Vacumet metallized polyethylene has two functions. First, Vacumet adds the familiar silver coating and shine. Second, and most importantly, Vacumet protects the adhesive properties and bond strength by reflecting heat while resisting oils, greases and water.
